Shine Blue! and Other Ideas from
Wicomico Child Advocacy Center

In addition to responding to child abuse allegations, the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center works on a continual basis to provide the community with information about preventing and reporting child abuse.  Each April,  in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, there is a special focus on these activities, offering many different opportunities for businesses and community members to engage with the CAC, including:
  • Pinwheels for Prevention: Pinwheel Planting, March 29, 2:00 pm
  • Shine Blue:  April 1 – April 30, Light up the county in blue by shining blue spotlights, light bulbs, or strings of blue lights at homes and businesses
  • Wear Blue Day: April 1,  Wear blue, take pictures and post to Facebook, tagging the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center Foundation, Inc.
  • Diamonds & Denim: April 4, 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Fundraising event at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 111
  • CAC Open House: April 17, 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm, Presentations and information sharing at the CAC
  • 3rd Friday: April 17, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Information sharing and activities in proximity to the 3rd Friday area
  • Guest Bartenders:  April 17, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Fundraising event at Hopper’s Tap House
  • Auction Fundraiser: April 23, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Fundraising event at Market Street Inn
