CAC Dogs Meet the Governor!

Governor Larry Hogan met with a variety of facility and therapy dogs, and their handlers, to present the Governor’s Citation in recognition of the important work of these dogs, helping to promote statewide legislation that will allow trained dogs such as these into the courtroom to help support child victims.

Dogs from the Tree House in Montgomery County (Lego), the CRICKET Center in Worcester County (Josiah), the Baltimore Child Abuse Center (Manny), and the Harford County Child Advocacy Center (Dizzy) joined MCA members on this great day.

Be sure to check out a WJZ13 CBS Baltimore video of the event featuring our CAC dogs and Caring Canines!  As noted by MCA’s Susan Hansell,  “They do yeoman’s work. They never ask for anything but a pat on the head and a treat and to be recognized by the governor… the courthouse bill is just a wonderful opportunity for us to tell our stories about child advocacy centers.”
