14th Annual Mid-Atlantic Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect

Each year MCA sponsors the Mid-Atlantic Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect, a premiere conference in Maryland that brings together professionals working in the investigation, prosecution, and treatment in child abuse cases.

The conference offers multidisciplinary workshops presented by nationally-recognized experts from all facets of the child maltreatment field. These workshops are aimed at prosecutors, law enforcement, doctors, child protective service workers, and mental health professionals.

Rebecca Jones Gaston, Executive Director, Social Services Administration, for the Maryland Dept. of Human Services, welcomed conference attendees.

Christopher Behan, Senior Associate, from the Annie E. Casey Foundation Child Welfare Strategy Group served as the Keynote Speaker at Wednesday’s General Session Luncheon.  Mr. Behan shared information about Foundation programs, available on aecf.org, that promote improved family dynamics for traumatized children.
